EQ for kidz was created based on the evidence that cultivating emotional intelligence in early childhood is the key to developing strong relationships, achieving success, and overall happiness in life. Each of our coaching programs are completely customized to meet your family's unique needs, beginning with a comprehensive consultation.
Our expert EQ coach, Susanna, works with children ages 4-12 through a tailored program of mindfulness activities, resources, and interactive games that match their unique EQ profile. But EQ for Kidz doesn't stop there - we also empower parents to become lifelong "emotion coaches" for their children, providing practical tools that will last a lifetime.
EQ for kidz also facilitates parent workshops and teacher training at international schools and throughout the community, covering topics like communication, empathy, and regulation, giving parents and educators the tools they need to foster emotional intelligence in children.
Here at EQ for kidz, we believe that emotions matter, and that if we learn how to navigate them in healthy ways, we become a better version of ourselves. The good news is that this crucial form of intelligence (EQ) can be taught and learned at any age. Our hope is that every child will have access to EQ development in the early years, when it matters most.
Susanna’s vision is for emotional intelligence education to become the norm. That all around the world, we will teach these crucial life skills to young minds, which will grow into heartful and brave individuals who know the immense value of a kind word or deed.
If we can achieve that dream, imagine how wonderful our world will be!
Susanna Nicol, a specialist in child emotional intelligence and parenting, created EQ for kidz based on her studies in Early Childhood Education and Child Developmental Psychology. She combines her educational background with her training as a CCMP (Certified Coaching and Mentoring Professional).
Throughout Susanna’s extensive experience (more than a decade) spent teaching children both in the school and home environment, she observed an important piece of children’s intelligence missing in education - the ability to cope with hard feelings, to be a kind friend, to persevere through hardships, and to understand and empathize with others.
Susanna not only understands the science behind emotions, but also how to coach practical tools and strategies to develop EQ in the early years, when it matters most.
If you’re a parent who feels overwhelmed or stuck, ready to move beyond reactive parenting but unsure where to start…you’re in the right place.
Perhaps your child is struggling with anxiety, anger, or friendship challenges - or maybe you want to prevent those struggles before they begin, avoiding trauma before it begins (did you know that EQ development is a protective factor against mental health issues?)
You want your home to be a place where everyone feels safe and secure, where connection and kindness replace yelling and power struggles. (but right now, it doesn’t feel this way.)
You want your child to turn towards you rather than away from you in the teen years, when they’re facing more peer pressure - investing in your relationship early on is the first step!
We begin by setting a specific goal for each session, then dive into the coaching process of deep listening and reflection. Using powerful questions and education on child development, we get to the root of the issue, leading to many "aha" moments.
Together, we’ll reframe limiting beliefs about emotions and realign your parenting style with your deepest values and intuition. You will leave with practical support, including customized scripts, strategies, visual aids, and exercises designed to help your family thrive.
We’ll use art, music, and movement to explore emotions, introducing visual tools that help make abstract concepts more tangible for kids. Susanna teaches regulation techniques, always customized to the child's unique development, from deep breathing to tapping to somatic movements, so they can eventually learn how to calm their bodies and minds independently.
Through our coaching approach, we create a safe space for your child to share their deepest fears and challenges, always respecting confidentiality and working closely with parents.
Parenting with emotional intelligence is a journey that is sometimes challenging, but always worth it.
If you want to stop feeling overwhelmed and start seeing real change in your family, let’s talk.
Because your child’s emotional health and your own peace of mind can’t wait.
The way your child feels seen, heard, and loved today shapes how they’ll relate to themselves and others for life. Don’t wait until the challenges grow bigger. Begin nurturing connection now, while their emotional world is still forming. You can’t go back and rewrite yesterday, but you can begin shaping tomorrow, right now. The sooner you start, the stronger the foundation you build for your child’s emotional future.
